NSRA - National Sprint Racing Association

THE AUSTRALIAN RACING BOARD

The Principal TB Racing Authorities in each State have, by consensual agreement, bound themselves together to form a peak national administration body which is now known as the Australian Racing Board.

The most important function of the Board is to ensure that TB Racing throughout Australia is conducted according to the same general practices, conditions and levels of integrity. This commonality is achieved by each Principal Racing Authority agreeing to abide by and to enforce the Australian Rules of Racing.

Both the NSRA and NARA discussed proposed changes to the ARB Rules Of Racing with the ARB, QRB and RVL from 2001 - 2004 and in July 2005 the ARB announced changes to Rule AR6 which allow persons licensed under the ARB Rules of Racing, ie TB Licensed Persons, to participate in other  codes of racing.  This is a major change to the TB Rules of Racing and the way in which the TB industry now views Alternate Racing Codes in Australia.

The NSRA has adopted the Australian Rules of Racing as the model (with minor amendments) under which all Sprint Racing conducted in Australia. As detailed elsewhere on this website, minor amendments have been made to the ARB “Model” Rules to suit the needs of  Australian Sprint Racing.

The Australian Rules of Racing as amended from time to time can be found on the following website.
