THE GOULBURN SPRINT RACING CLUB
The Goulburn Sprint Racing Club (GSRC) was formed in 1997 by Dr Ivan Wilden-Constatine & the late Angie Zantis two local Goulburn business men. The club grew quickly and during a short lived association with the then Australian Racing Quarter Horse Association staged the 1998 All Australian Futurity and Derby the first major race meeting in Australia since the demise of Sprint Racing in QLD in 1993.
The 1998 Futurity & Derby race meeting at Goulburn remains the largest and probably most important event of the modern era. The Futurity entrants raced for $10, 000 which when the major sponsor pulled out was personally paid by Goulburn Club Members Wayne Graham and Justine Smith from Jarama Stud.
The club has a set of Starting Barriers on permanent loan from Jarama Stud and has access to Professional video equipment, multiple cameras and electronic timing equipment.

The GSRC raced on a permanent basis the second Sunday of the month from 1999 - 2002.
In addition to regular monthly race meetings the GSRC was involved in a series of activities to promote the Australian Industy:
- All Australian Futurity 1998
- All Australian Derby 1998
- 1st Sprint Racing Organisation Australia with its own website - currently offline
- Relationship with now defunct Western Exposure magazine
- Regular Column in Performance Horse Magazine
- Submitted both Proposals and Rejoinders to the National Competition Review in 3 states
- Public Meeting with AmQHA Senior Director of Racing Dan Fick in 1999
- Hosted the Japan Racing Association on a fact finding visit to Goulburn
- All Australian Futurity 2000 - Trophy presented by AmQha President J Windham
- All Australian Derby 2000 - Trophy presented by AmQha President J Windham
- All Australian Futurity 2001
- 1st Australian Sprint Racing Club with a Television Program - Goulburn Community TV
- Down Under Dash 2002
- Down Under Derby 2002
- Lodged submissions to the Federal Equine Insurance Enquiry 2003 including Risk Assessment material
Visitors to Goulburn over the years included well known industry identities Tony Smith, the late John Costello, Bill Roberts, Ventry Wall, Greg Douglas, Brett Abraham, Ian Rosenow, Tom Kennedy, Len Ridsdale, John Honeyman and a range of national and international AQHA Presidents and Directors.
The GSRC maintained a skeleton Committee from 2003 - 2005 when it again became active when a team of horses from NSW went to Gatton top support ARQ Racing.
The GSRC conducted racing at Cowra and Queanbeyan during 2007 and has plans to expand NSRA sanctioned racing in NSW during 2008.
